Ali Zafar is one of Pakistan’s most famous singer, actor, song writer, model, producer screen writer and painter. He has also worked in a number of international films as an actor and singer.
Early life
Ali Zafar was born in lahore on 18th of may in the year 1980 to a Punjabi family. His parents, Mohammad Zafarullah and Kanwal Ameen, were professors at the University of Punjab.He has two brothers Zain Zafar and Danyal Zafar.
He has spent his entire childhood in Lahore and is a true Lahori at heart in terms of being a food lover. His younger brother Danyal is also a singer and he totally looks like a younger version of Ali.
Education
He did his schooling from C.A.A. Public School. He completed his graduation from Government College Lahore (GCU) and National College of Arts (NCA).
Struggle period
While Ali was still young and figuring out what he wants to do in his life he was also busy doing all the artistic stuff he used to enjoy. In his college days, he used to play guitar, and paint.
He also used to make sketches of random people in his father’s University where he worked. Then he decided to raise his own money to record and release his own music album as he didn’t wanted to burden his parents for this.
So, he started going to (PC) Pearl Continental Hotel Lahore in the evening, sat in their lobby and made sketches of people for 100Rs each. These were most probably the first earnings of his life.
Career
Ali Zafar started out on Pakistani TV before becoming a popular musician. He later also established a career in Bollywood and his success led many Pakistani actors to venture into Indian films.
Ali started his career as a Music composer and gained popularity by his single “Channo” from his debut album Huqa Pani, which sold over five million copies worldwide.”Channo” turned out to be a huge success, topping many music charts and earned him several awards for Best Music Album and Artist.
He made his acting debut with a leading role in the 2010 Bollywood satire film Tere bin Laden, which was a moderate box office success.
His performance in the film garnered critical appreciation and earned him several nominations in the Best Male Debut category, including Filmfare. He then also worked in several films, including Mere brother ki Dulhan, Chasm e Badoor and Dear Zindagi.
He has worked with some of the biggest celebrities of bollywood like Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan.
Ali Zafar also debuted in a Pakistani film recently in 2018 called Teefa in trouble in a lead role alongside Maya Ali which also became a huge success on the box office and became one of the highest earning films of Pakistan.
Achievments
He has received five Lux Style Awards and a Filmfare award nomination. In 2013, Zafar was voted as the “Sexiest Asian Man on the Planet”, based on a worldwide poll by the British newspaper Eastern Eye.
Personal life
Ali Zafar got married on 28 july 2009. His wife’s name is Ayesha Fazli. These two were engaged for a long time and finally tied the knot in 2009.They have two children; a boy and a girl. His son Azaan Zafar was born in 2010 and his daughter Alyza Zafar was born in 2015.
Controversy
As we all know, all these famous celebrities are always surrounded by controversies, some of them are true and some of them are just based on rumor’s, however we will never be able to find out the truth behind them.
Like many other celebrities, recently Ali Zafar was also surrounded by a controversy in 2019 related to the “Me Too” movement. For those of you who don’t know what Me too is; it is a movement against sexual abuse and sexual harassment where people publicize allegations of sex crimes committed by powerful and/or prominent men.
Ali Zafar was accused of harassment by another fellow singer Meesha Shafi. Ali Zafar challenged Meesha Shafi in courts for tarnishing and sabotaging his image and at the end he won the case and was declared Not guilty.
Another controversy related to Ali Zafar happened this year 2020. The opening ceremony of PSL Pakistan Super League was a flop this year and one of the huge names of Pakistani entertainment industry and a renowned singer Ali Azmat who performed in the ceremony accused Ali Zafar for the ceremony’s failure.
Although he didn’t took his name but he clearly described out was his plan to ruin the ceremony by hiring bloggers and media persons to write bad things about the ceremony. Ali Azmat said that Ali Zafar did all of this because he wasn’t hired for performing in this year’s ceremony, as he performed in 2019’s PSL Ceremony.

Ali Zafar is 5’9” inches tall. And his weight is about 165 lbs. He also loves to workout as much as he loves food.
